How many species can I hunt at Gaspare Spanio Safaris?
We offer 34 huntable species on our private 3,000-hectare Limpopo concession, ranging from Cape buffalo and hippo to kudu, sable, nyala, gemsbok, and a wide variety of plains game and small game. Do I need a separate permit for each species?
Yes. Every species taken requires a valid hunting permit issued by the Limpopo Provincial Nature Conservation authority. Permits are property-specific and species-specific. Your Professional Hunter and our office manage all permit applications on your behalf — you do not apply independently. What is the best combination of species for a first safari?
A classic first-safari combination is kudu, impala, warthog, blesbok or gemsbok, and either zebra or wildebeest — 5–6 species across 7 days. This combination delivers variety across hunting methods (walk-and-stalk, blind, and spot-and-stalk), produces outstanding trophies across a range of price points, and keeps the total trophy fee budget accessible. Which species require the most days?
Sable and roan antelope require dedicated time — typically 2–3 days each — due to low population density and strict age assessment requirements before any shot is approved. Cape buffalo hunts require a minimum of 7 days under PHASA regulations. Most plains game species (kudu, gemsbok, impala, warthog) can be incorporated into a multi-species itinerary without significantly extending the safari duration. Your Professional Hunter will advise on realistic species combinations for your available days.
What are the trophy fee prices?
Trophy fees vary by species and are charged per animal taken — they are separate from the daily rate. Prices are listed in USD, EUR, and DKK on our South Africa Trophy Price List. Daily rates covering accommodation, Professional Hunter, meals, vehicles, and field preparation are listed on our Hunting Price List.
